I have a very fussy teenager in the house who likes food one day but not the next. Her current thing is Brownies. Personally I am not a huge fan but if it keeps her quiet I’ll happily make these Brownies once or twice a week 🙂
These brownies are quick to make and cook and seem to disappear just as quickly as I make them. My girls prefer a mixture of Dark and Milk Chocolate in their Brownies but feel free to play around with the ratio to suit your taste. As long as you have a total of 250 grams of Chocolate you are good to go. Also DO NOT OVER BAKE your Brownies. If you cook them for longer than the recipe states you will have dry unappealing Brownies and no one wants that.
Ingredients
- 180 grams Dark Chocolate
- 70 grams Milk Chocolate
- 220 grams Butter (Salted is fine)
- 300 grams Granulated Sugar (Raw or White)
- 6 Eggs
- 150 grams Plain Flour
- Pinch of Salt
I make my Brownies in the Thermomix and are easily adaptable to make without. First weigh and then grate your Chocolate on Speed 8 for 8 seconds. This step allows the chocolate to melt quicker with the butter for a smoother Brownie. Add diced butter to your Thermomix bowl and melt for 4 minutes/70 degrees/speed 2. Check to make sure all the butter is melted and you have no chunks of chocolate remaining. Add sugar, eggs and salt to the melted chocolate in the bowl. Combine for 1 minute/speed 4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add flour. Combine for 20 seconds/speed 4.
Pour mixture into a lined square baking tin 28×28 cm and bake in a 160 degree oven for 25 minutes maximum. The brownies will feel soft when you remove from the oven. Allow them to rest in the tin for 30 minutes before slicing into squares.
If you do not own a Thermomix melt chocolate and butter together in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water – making sure to get no water into your mixture. Once melted and smooth add remaining ingredients and stir until well combined.
Enjoy 🙂
