Caramel popcorn is one of my all time favourite treats and I have finally found a recipe that tastes great and contains no white or brown sugar. It is quick and simple to make. Enjoy 🙂
Caramel Popcorn with Pecans
- 1 cup oven roasted pecans
- 2/3 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup organic honey
Pop popcorn in an air fryer on in a brown paper bag in the microwave. In a large saucepan bring to boil maple syrup and honey until mixture bubbles and darkens in colour. Add popped popcorn and pecans. Stir until mixture is evenly coated. Press mixture into a large lined baking tray. Allow to stand for one hour and then cut into squares. Even though there is no artificial sugar in this recipe is has quite a high natural sugar content so you will need to eat in moderation 🙂
