This chicken dish is simple but tastes great. It is best left to marinate overnight but if you don’t have that much time 1-2 hours will be enough. We have it with Fried Rice or with brown rice and steamed vegetables. I usually bake it in the oven but if you love to BBQ it also comes up great. Enjoy 🙂
Five Spice Chicken
- 1 – 1.5 kg chicken pieces (thighs, legs, wings or breast)
- 1/3 cup Rice Bran Oil
- 1/3 cup Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons diced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice
- 1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Combine marinade ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add chicken and allow to marinate overnight. Place marinade and chicken pieces in a large baking dish (if skin is on chicken make sure skin side is up). Bake for 40-55 minutes until chicken is cooked through. If there is any marinade left over pour over chicken before serving. Enjoy 🙂
