My youngest absolutely loves packet Mac & Cheese (much to my disgust) and I refuse to buy it so we have not had Mac & Cheese for a long time.
To say I was surprised that she asked me to make my own tonight was an understatement. So you can imagine my excitement when she delightfully told me that mine was better 🙂
This recipe is super simple to make in the Thermomix and is easily converted to cook on the stove top. There’s no need to melt butter or cook off your flour. You just put it all in the pot and stir until combined and thickened 🙂
- 130 grams Cheese (Colby, Cheddar or Tasty)
- 60 grams Parmesan
- 50 grams Butter
- 50 grams Plain Flour
- 500 grams Milk
- 1 teaspoon Sweet Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Tumeric (to give it the colour or the box product 😉 )
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
Add cheese to your Thermomix bowl and grate 6 seconds/speed 8.
Add the remaining ingredients and cook 10 minutes/speed 3/90 degrees.
Pour over cooked pasta and enjoy 🙂
