It’s use up tomato day so today you all get a bonus recipe 🙂
This tomato sauce is absolutely delicious and has no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives and the whole batch contains 80 grams of sugar. This recipe is even better if the tomatoes and capsicum are roasted but I didn’t have the time today so it’s a little paler than normal.
Ingredients
- 800 grams oven roasted and peeled tomatoes
- 200 grams oven roasted and peeled capsicum
- 2 cloves garlic
- 80 grams raw sugar
- 20 grams rock salt
- 1 teaspoon dried onion (preservative free)
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder or seeds
Combine all of the above ingredients in your Thermomix bowl and blitz for 10 seconds/speed 9 or until smooth. Remove the MC and place the varoma basket on top to catch any splatter. Cook sauce for 50 minutes/120 degrees/speed 2. Then to remove any leftover chunks blitz for 90 seconds/speed 10.
Pour into sterilised bottles and store in the fridge 🙂
