We have pizzas every Saturday night and even though I struggle to get the kids to eat wholemeal bread they gladly eat this wholemeal pizza base ( the fact that they don’t know it has wholemeal flour in it helps I am sure ). For a crispy base use a pizza stone. Enjoy 🙂
Wholemeal Pizza Base
- 200 ml warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons yeast
If using a bread maker to make dough place all ingredients into bowl and select dough-pizza. To make by hand mix all ingredients together until dough is formed. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic (approx 8 minutes). Place dough back into bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to stand for 30-45 minutes. Cut dough into portions and roll out to desired thickness. Add favourite sauce and toppings and bake in a pre-heated oven until crispy.
