These cookies are adapted from a recipe that I found in an old book of my grandmothers. They are made with wholemeal flour and have no sugar. Sometimes for extra flavour I add pecans or walnuts. Enjoy 🙂
Sultana & Oat Cookies
- 1 cup of softened quality butter
- 1/2 – 2/3 cup of maple syrup
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
- 1 teaspoon bi carb
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 cups whole oats
- 1 cup sultanas
In a large mixing bowl whisk together butter, vanilla and maple syrup. Add 1 egg at a time and whisk until smooth. Add dry ingredients to the bowl and stir with a wooden spoon until combined. Roll tablespoons of mixture into balls and place on a lined baking tray. Bake cookies in a 190 degree oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
